An Israeli scuba diver has discovered an ancient sword off the Mediterranean coast of Israel.the diver took the sword ashore and delivered it to government experts, the Israel's Antiquities Authority (IAA), the authority said the sword is estimated to be 900 years old and belong to Crusader era.

 Underwater Treasure Trove

Researchers claimed that this ancient sword may have been dropped in the sea by a Crusader knight around 900 years ago. According to the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), the 3-feet long weapon was found in the Mediterranean Sea in a natural bay near the port city of Haifa. Despite the clinging of sea creatures, its handle was noticed by the scuba diver Shlomi Katzin.

According to Mr. Nir Distelfeld, Inspector for the Israel Antiquities Authority’s Robbery Prevention Unit, “The sword, which has been preserved in perfect condition, is a beautiful and rare piece belonged to a Crusader knight. It was found encrusted with marine organisms.
The waves under the sea had covered the sword with sand,due to which it remained hidden for so long.
